Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring a Director, Client Partnerships to join our growing advocacy and associations advertising team in DC and will report into the Head of Public Affairs. In this role you will work with new and existing partners to build Axios’ revenue through successful client partnerships, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with advocacy organizations, non-profits, and policy-driven entities to expand Axios's impact in the advocacy sector. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strategic relationships with advocacy groups, non-profits, policy organizations, and related agencies and stakeholders; acting as a brand ambassador for Axios; identifying and pursuing new partnership opportunities to drive revenue and expand Axios's presence in the advocacy space; and working closely with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of partnership initiatives. Qualifications include 7+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, or business development within the advocacy, non-profit, or policy sectors; deep understanding of the advocacy landscape in Washington, D.C., with established relationships with key stakeholders; familiarity with digital media and online marketing technologies; proven track record of developing large advertising partnerships and managing a diverse portfolio of clients; exceptional collaboration skills; willingness to travel and attend industry events; growth mindset; strong leadership and communication skills; comfort with outbound sales strategy and nurturing inbound leads; and ability to synthesize market feedback to inform product and strategy. The role offers a starting salary range of $95,000 - $105,000 dependent on factors including location, experience, and skills, plus incremental variable compensation based on sales territory contingent on sales targets.
