to oversee the daily operations of 14 convenience store and gas station locations across Connecticut and Rhode Island. This is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring all stores are fully staffed, compliant, and operating at the highest standards.
The right candidate will be a strict, organized, and confident leader who takes full ownership of store operations. This is not a “check-the-box” role—our Operations Manager will be trusted with authority to run the business day-to-day, enforce policies without exception, and make tough decisions when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee operations across 14 store locations, with regular site visits.
Hire, train, discipline, and terminate store managers and staff as necessary.
Enforce all company policies consistently and without exception.
Manage vendor relationships for non-fuel products (tobacco, beverages, supplies).
Maintain strict financial controls, including deposits, lottery/tobacco reconciliation, and shortage investigations.
Review and act on monitoring reports covering theft, customer service, cleanliness, and compliance.
Troubleshoot minor POS system and pump issues before calling service vendors.
Balance hands-on support in stores with systems-driven accountability through reporting and audits.
Travel regularly between CT and RI locations (company-covered fuel).
Report directly to ownership with full operational authority.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience managing operations in gas stations or convenience stores (required).
Strong leadership skills and ability to make tough personnel and operational decisions.
Balance of customer service mindset with strict auditing and compliance focus.
Highly organized, disciplined, and accountable.
Reliable and motivated to take full responsibility for multi-site operations.
