The Company
We have been retained by an acquisition oriented innovative, private equity backed life sciences/services company for a hands-on, high potential, strategic Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Business Insights. The organization is a global leader in delivering innovative and impactful solutions, cutting edge education and meaningful insights across the pharmaceutical industry. Since its founding, the company has been an instrumental part in shaping the future of the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry and serves well established, reputable companies. The company is based in the Reston, Va area with a 1-2 day in office requirement.
Position
Reporting to the CFO, work closely with the private equity firm as well the senior corporate leadership team and the business unit Presidents. This role will play a critical role in overseeing the FP&A function as well as developing business insights and related KPIs from financial and operational data and be involved in M&A transactions activity. This person will assume and lead the development and analysis of business models including but not limited to annual budgets, internal and external financial reporting, and forecasts. This role is responsible for the analysis of departmental results with a comparison to budget forecasts and prior year’s results. They are looking for someone who can make recommendations and improvements to the company and the finance function, drive change and make a positive impact.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of FP&A related positions preferably in mid-sized growth companies. Prior exposure/experience working with private equity backed companies preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required in finance, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and improve key financial metrics.
- Strong technical background across the Microsoft suite, NetSuite, Power BI, and Salesforce.
- Self starter who thrives in a remote working environment and can build relationships at all levels of the organization and the private equity sponsor. This role works closely with a take-charge senior management team that is interested in growth and driving change.

Compensation
A competitive package with annual compensation including base salary, bonus, and an equity component.
