Rooted in the values of faith, family, and hard work, the 3-hour daily program offers fresh takes on local and national issues, often driven by real voices from the NOW Local News App.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Host/Producer to help lead Los Ãngeles NOW. This individual will not only host the show but also play a hands-on role in shaping its editorial direction. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, fluent in Spanish, passionate about local news, and energized by community engagement and innovation. A strong connection to Los Angeles' Latino communities is essential, as this show is rooted in authentic voices, real stories, and meaningful dialogue. This is more than hosting a show. Rather, it's a chance to help reimagine local news through meaningful conversation and community voices.
Responsibilities
Host a live 3-hour daily Spanish-language news discussion program, delivering stories with clarity, energy, integrity and authenticity.
Collaborate with producers and contributors to plan, develop, and execute compelling segments.
Participate in and moderate panel discussions on current events, community issues, and trending topics.
Book guests and develop strong relationships with community leaders, experts, and local newsmakers.
Write and edit scripts in Spanish that are sharp, accurate, and audience-focused. (*Sometimes in English as well)
Edit video as needed for on-air and digital content.
Pitch and produce original story ideas and innovative content formats that reflect and resonate with the Latino community in Los Angeles.
Post and engage with show content on Estrella's digital platforms, including social media and the NOW Local News App.
Use the NOW Local News App to solicit and incorporate videos and stories that elevate the community's voice.
Stay informed on local and national news, with a focus on topics relevant to Spanish-speaking audiences.
Qualifications
Proven on-camera hosting, reporting, news anchoring or podcasting experience.
Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills in Spanish.
Deep interest in Los Angeles' Latino communities and issues.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative news environment.
Video editing skills (Adobe Premiere or similar tools) a plus.
Social media savvy with experience in digital content creation and audience engagement.
Strong organizational and communication skills
Availability to work on-site in Burbank.
Be present at local events as needed.
Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) required; conversational English preferred
Eligibility Requirements
Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Must be willing to work overtime on short notice.
Must be 18 years or older
