Position Overview

As an intern in the Engineering - Design & Manufacturing department, you will play a vital role in bridging customer requirements with the final product. You will assist in defining product specifications, developing cost-effective manufacturing processes, and coordinating manufacturing methods for both new and existing products.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in interpreting customer production specifications through drawings, text, samples, or application requirements.
  • Support the analysis of product material and configuration specifications to ensure form, fit, and function suitability.
  • Aid in analyzing product specifications and tolerances in relation to manufacturing process capabilities and quality standards.
  • Assist in determining manufacturing processes, including product structure, manufacturing routing, and outside service processes.
  • Support the definition of product and raw material stock codes, including description, industry standards, and revision levels.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates to support sales and customer service activities.
  • Aid in preparing factory documentation, including drawings.
  • Support the design and development of primary and alternate manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in defining product scheduling parameters, lead time calculation, batch quantities, and material supply requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and quality system personnel as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong interest in mechanical manufacturing processes, assembly, and testing.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
