We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer in our Broomfield, CO Location.
About the Role:
You will function as a seasoned and proven system engineer specializing in Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune. This role will report to the IT Engineering Manager and will work in collaboration with the Systems Lead in addition to our global IT organization, including engineering, enterprise apps, and the support team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure, applications, and services related to Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation, security, compliance, and optimization of our IT systems.
Your hands-on expertise will be critical in helping to execute an enterprise-wide IT strategy and roadmap that is aligned and positioned to innovate and deliver compelling business value on a global scale. You will work to ensure stakeholders have access to our systems and services whenever and wherever they need them.
You will be supported by a global IT organization, providing innovative solutions and services to scientific teams to increase collaboration, productivity, and development of quantum software, applications, and hardware which will have a future impact on our everyday lives. Previous experience in a relatable role working as part of a high-performing team is preferred. A natural desire to collaborate, problem solve, and exceed end-user expectations is ideal for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions tailored to meet the organization's needs, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and other related services.
Manage and administer Microsoft Entra platform, ensuring proper configuration, security, and integration with other systems.
Deploy and manage Microsoft Intune for device management, in partnership with our Endpoint Engineer, including configuration, policy enforcement, and application deployment.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary changes to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Implement security best practices and compliance standards within Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune environments.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc., by implementing appropriate controls and configurations in Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune environments.
Provide guidance, training, and technical support to end-users and other IT teams regarding Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune services, or related integrations.
Stay updated with the latest developments in Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Create, define, and document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintain system integrity.
Participate in, or lead, the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects related to Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune.
Autonomously identify operational risks, opportunities, and needs by driving the necessary corrective action through standardization, process improvement, and governance.
Proactively engage with leadership, stakeholders, and colleagues to foster a culture built on collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ability to respond to and resolve after-hours events or crises.
YOU MUST HAVE:
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role with a focus on Microsoft 365, Entra, and Intune administration.
Minimum 5 years of extensive and demonstrable knowledge of IT systems, services, and hardware (peripherals and endpoints) and enterprise-level tools, standards, and procedures.

Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
WE VALUE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent formal training.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, GCC, and related services.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or similar are highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Defender for Endpoint. Experience working with Intune from the ground up is a plus.
Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and architectures, preferably with experience in Azure and/or AWS.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and task efficiency.
Ability to document procedures and design workflows to improve workplace support.
