What you will do:

  • Manage the delivery of a full-range of services in payroll tax consulting services, including controversy support, payroll function design and restructuring, and M&A support

  • Work closely with both the payroll tax compliance and compensation and benefits consulting teams to develop a comprehensive Firm-wide solution for payroll tax issues

  • Management of all components of client projects including issue dentification, scoping, bidding and winning, delivery, and client experience

  • Assist in the development of a short-, mid-, and long-term plan for building out a payroll tax consulting practice

  • Develop a staffing model and assist in recruiting a team to support a vision for the practice

  • Develop processes to identify and manage client risk related to payroll tax matters

  • Assist in the development and marketing of payroll tax related solutions

  • Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and execute, based on the Firm's focus and future of the tax service line

  • Demonstrate company values and alignment with the Firm's mission and long-term vision



Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field

  • 3 years or more of related tax experience



Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA license and/or J.D. / L.L.M

  • 8 or more years of tax experience focused on payroll tax issues

  • Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills

  • Growth-oriented vision for a payroll tax practice

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly

  • Continuous learning and a commitment to excellence

  • Passion for serving and developing others

Illinois Wage Transparency

Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
