FlyteHealth exists to help individuals living with obesity pursue healthier lives through chronic condition support and pharmacotherapy virtually via video conferencing and an engaging smartphone app. We leverage an in-house nationwide clinical care team including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and care navigators. We also partner with hospital systems, payers, and PBMs to expand their ability to reach more patients and provide broader obesity care support.
The Role:
We are looking for a licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team of medical
professionals to optimize the use of FlyteHealth Platforms in caring for our patients.
Duties will primarily focus on the provision of clinical care to patients with obesity and associated medical conditions. These duties will include (but are not limited to): recording patient medical histories, performing physical exams (as needed), reviewing / interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating patient care plans. This role is currently a remote position, and will likely remain remote for the foreseeable future, but subject to change as the company grows and evolves.
To be successful as a nurse practitioner at FlyteHealth , you should possess excellent clinical acumen and teamwork skills, be empathic but resolute in your decision-making, be attentive to detail, and exhibit cultural competence.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with the Flyte medical team to evaluate, treat and monitor adult patients who present for weight management
Perform initial visits and follow up visits
Conduct co-visits with physicians and/or dietitians
Recording patient medical histories in the electronic medical record
Create patient care plans and implementing existing care plans
Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic labs and studies
Monitor and operate medical equipment as applicable
Diagnose health issues
Knowledge of prescription prior authorization processes and requirements
Administer prescription interventions and other treatments, communicate with pharmacies as needed
Detect changes in patient health status and modify treatment plans and medications, as needed
Train, coordinate care, counsel, and educate patients as part of the management of obesity
Consult with external healthcare professionals and family members
On-call assistance, as needed
Complete any administrative needs, as required by your role
Remotely monitor patients through FlyteHealth Platforms

Optimize training and workflows
Assist in onboarding of clinic staff
About You:
An extremely high degree of compassion, motivation, and commitment related to weight management, nutrition and care for patients with obesity or overweight.
Passionate about health and assisting people in changing their lives and health outcomes.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong proficiency in technologies such as videoconferencing applications, VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), text, email and online presentation software.
Possess the ability to quickly learn and use our proprietary professional and client web-based portal to support and document participant sessions with adherence to policies and procedures.
Awareness of trends and evidence regarding overweight & obesity.
Open and honest receptivity to cultural diversity.
Willingness to provide feedback to our team regarding our programs in support of continuous quality improvement.
Understanding of service quality and how it is measured.
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree from an accredited nursing program
RN licensure in the state where employed or a compact party state and board-certified by either ANCC or AANP APN authorization in the state where employed to practice in internal health by the Board of Nurse Examiners
Prescriptive authorization
Experience providing primary care as an internal medicine nurse practitioner (or related field) for at least two years.
Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work.
Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and EMR/EHR technology
Clear understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of disease prevention
Located in CT and/or licensed in CT
Contract role - willing to work 15+ treating hours.
