🧠 About The Role

We are looking for a handful of excellent Product Engineers to join our team of 8 (Designer, 7 Engineers). As an early member of our engineering team, we need someone who is product-minded, driven, and comfortable working across the stack.

Govly’s primary app runs on Ruby/Rails, Javascript/React, Postgres, Redis, and Elasticsearch. We also run a bunch of Node services that handle web automation using PlaywrightJS and CheerioJS (driven by crawlee.dev). We use AI and LLMs heavily in both our development process and throughout the product.

💡 What You Might Work On

  • Iterate on features that drive cross-organization collaboration on government opportunities
  • Build an AI agent that can autonomously crawl thousands of different websites
  • Extract, normalize, and aggregate data from 20,000+ state and local government contracts
  • Find a way to tie opportunity data to publicly available award data
  • Build AI agents and tools that leverage our internal data to give custom insights and reports

🤸 What You Will Do

  • Use a deep understanding of the problems our customers face to build software that people love
  • Drive end-to-end implementations of features: design data models, build apis, implement frontend components, write tests, analyze user interactions and propose changes based on the data
  • Utilize Claude Code and MCPs to augment your workflow
  • Write clean, readable code that balances quality, scalability and speed of implementation
  • Work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment

🧳 YOU’RE THE IDEAL FIT IF YOU

  • Have a passion for programming and being at the intersection of product, design, and engineering
  • Love Ruby and/or Javascript
  • You are interested in and excited about staying at the forefront of AI
  • Thrive in a remote environment
  • Want to deeply understand our business and market and use that to help drive our product forward
  • Give and take constructive feedback well
  • Are comfortable working across the stack whether it’s building a new API in Rails, generating reports from large amounts of data using SQL, extracting information with the help of an LLM, or driving out user-facing features in React
  • Can define, articulate, and follow up on the KPIs of your work

💰 Salary, Equity & Benefits

  • The opportunity to have a massive impact on the future of our company and mission
