The Purchasing Director oversees all non-transportation procurement activities of the organization (i.e., overhead, supplies, services), developing strategic sourcing plans and ensuring goods and services are acquired at the best value while maintaining quality and timeliness. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to support organizational needs. This position ensures the Finance Department supports business objectives by maintaining optimal inventory levels, meeting quality standards, and achieving budget goals.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (station and warehouse managers, facilities managers, department leads) to understand purchasing requirements and align strategies with organizational objectives.
Develop, implement, and improve purchasing policies and procedures to increase efficiency and cost savings.
Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors to ensure goods and services meet organizational standards.
Negotiate and administer contracts to secure favorable terms for cost, quality, and delivery.
Monitor market trends and vendor performance to anticipate changes and adjust strategies as needed.
Prepare and present purchasing performance metrics and reports to senior management.
Lead purchasing team members, providing direction, guidance, and support for ongoing professional growth.
Resolve vendor-related issues, including performance concerns and service failures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary range: $110,000-$120,000

Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of procurement or supply chain management experience.
In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain management, and vendor management.
Knowledge of procurement software and systems and ability to implement.
Full proficiency in use of computer tools including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other database tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation skills, vendor management, and process development skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Hands-on, execution-focus leader comfortable leading in a dynamic environment.
Desire and drive to learn and grow.
Highly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitude.
