Job Details
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in compliance with GAAP.
Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of various journal entries, variance analysis, audit schedules and distribution of cost center reports.
Maintain and update job costing reports and conduct cost analysis.
Ensure compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) requirements.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Contribute to the development of financial strategic goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or MBA is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the GovCon sector.
Proficient in accounting software, MS Excel, and other business management software.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, month-end close process, journal entries, FAR, job costing, and DCAA compliance.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for thinking creatively to devise solutions to complex problems.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, while maintaining a high level of productivity and meeting deadlines.
Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
Professional certification like CMA, CGMA, etc. is a plus.
