Job Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights to management.
Assist in the preparation of management reports and dashboards.
General Ledger Management
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Review journal entries and ensure proper documentation and approval.
Monitor and resolve discrepancies in account balances and transactions.
Month-End and Year-End Close
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
Prepare and review accruals, deferrals, and other adjusting entries.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Collaborate with department heads to understand financial needs and constraints.
Audit and Compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
Prepare audit schedules and documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Preferred: CPA
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
