Base pay range
As a Software Test Engineer II - Azure Storage on the Azure Storage team, you will do the validation of highly scalable, performant services that deliver highly reliable, secure and available access to storage running on DPU nodes. You will be involved in all phases of the storage lifecycle, design, implementation, test, deployment, and support. Responsibilities
- You will identify the scope of testing to create a complex quality plan for multiple features. You’ll also create commitments for test plans in multiple features to estimate the scope of work and agree on requirements with some guidance from others.
- You will work with partners across teams by creating test plans for multiple features and contributes effort to get test plans for a feature reviewed by other teams (e.g., requirement writers, design architects) to solidify the test plan.
- By leveraging available data, you’ll work within multiple features or a broad/complex feature area to identify areas where additional exploration, development, or testing is required. You’ll also help build complex custom visualizations to ensure product testing coverage.
- You will be contributing to efforts to apply best practices in automation to create and implement automated testing procedures using scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python). Creates automated regression release testing when possible.
- Maintaining and applying automation tools and encouraging team members to apply automation throughout the testing process (e.g., during development). Writing code or leveraging tools and technology to eliminate repetitive tasks to reduce manual work for multiple features.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years software industry experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years software industry experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience with networking and/or storage testing
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years software industry experience
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years software industry experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience with network (n/w) testing or storage testing tools such as Internet Protocol Performance Testing Tool (iperf) and Flexible I/O Tester (fio), features such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), file systems, snapshots, and Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID).
- 1+ year(s) with scripting in Python, testing, and debugging.
- 1+ year(s) proficiency with Windows troubleshooting.
- 1+ year(s) of effective communication and collaboration skills.
