Your Role & Impact

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our organization, driving success for our clients and firm. Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Support & Client Relations

• Assist in entering and updating financial data in accounting software under the guidance of senior staff
• Follow internal procedures to ensure data is entered correctly and consistently
• Work with senior accountants to prepare reports using system-generated data
• Communicate professionally with clients via email or phone to request documents or clarify information
• Ensure all client information is kept confidential and stored securely
• Help with onboarding new clients by collecting initial documentation and setting up files
  
  

Project Management & Team Collaboration

• Attend and participate in team meetings, taking notes and following up on assigned action items.
• Monitor progress of assigned accounting or tax projects and provide status updates to managers
  
  

Preparation, Compliance, & Reporting

• Prepare accurate and timely business and individual tax returns in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Assist in the execution of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and documentation
• Complete payroll tax returns, personal property tax filings, and extension requests as required
• Perform reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and record year-end journal entries in compliance with accounting standards and firm procedures
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development to build technical skills and stay current on industry changes
• Develop proficiency in firm-approved software systems and tools to support daily accounting tasks and engagements
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Accounting Degree or equivalent experience
• Certifications: CPA License or seeking to obtain CPA in the future.
• Technical/Industry-Specific Skills: Microsoft Products, Outlook, Deltek, GoFileRoom, ProSystem, Caseware, and Auditdashboard
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and analytical skills, ability to work independently and multitask while meeting deadlines.
• Experience: This is an entry-level position. Completion of accounting coursework or prior professional experience in an accounting
