Entravision Communications has a great career opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual with strong connections to political ad agencies and a proven track record in political sales. The SVP of Political Sales and Coordination will oversee and coordinate all aspects of political advertising sales within the organization and plays a crucial role in driving revenue and fostering partnerships within the political advertising sector, especially with media agencies and candidates, political committees and PAC level. This position requires a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of the political landscape, knowledge of broadcast, and digital media, and great at project management and a commitment to ethical business practices. You must be based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Sales Strategy:
Execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the political advertising sector by state and market for national, state, local and political proposition campaigns.
Engage with key political media agencies, target markets, political parties, committees and PACs and campaigns.
Coordinate with Entravision stations on targeted State and Federal government campaign
Maintain Relationships:
Coordinate existing political connections and establish new relationships with political consultants, Committees, PACs and campaign managers.
Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders such as Katz and Locality to secure advertising contracts.
Generate client meetings focused on political outreach sales efforts and the importance of the Latino market.
Sales Team Leadership:
Engage with Entravision’s sales representatives on political sales efforts.
Provide support, and guidance to maximize team performance.
Coordinate all political outreach with political agencies and candidates, PAC, Party committees and IE’s.
Work closely with Locality and Katz or any other designated sales organization.
Generate weekly reports on campaign activities.
Maintain and update political engagement database
Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze market trends, political events, and regulatory changes that may impact advertising sales.
Generate regular reports on sales performance, revenue projections, and market insights.
Client Acquisition and Retention:
Identify and pursue new clients within the political advertising space with focus on the candidate, committee and PAC level.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through exceptional service.
Pricing and Negotiation:
Collaborate with Entravision’s head of prices to determine the proper price of each political campaign.
Publish rate cards to be used by our sales representation organization.
Collaboration with clients and Entravision leads to negotiating advertising rates and packages.
Ensure competitive pricing to maximize revenue.
Compliance and Ethics:
Maintain a deep understanding of political advertising regulations, compliance standards and FCC regulations.
Ensure all advertising campaigns adhere to legal and ethical guidelines.
Budget Management:
Manage and allocate the budget for the political sales by division efficiently.
Monitor expenses and revenue to meet financial targets.
Qualifications
Proven experience in political sales, with a successful track record of achieving sales targets.
Extensive connections within the political advertising industry.
Project management.
Knowledge and connections with political committees, PACs and candidates.
Strong leadership skills and experience in managing sales teams.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of political advertising regulations and compliance.
Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to evolving political landscapes.
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field or a minimum of 5 years of broadcasting and digital sales experience.
Candidate must have established strong committee and PAC relationships with key decision-makers.
You have an exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships.
You possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines, and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
