About the Position: We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing CPA firm in Annapolis, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to take on a leadership role while continuing to develop their expertise in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities
• Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical tax issues and professional development
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service delivery and proactive tax planning
• Research complex tax issues and stay current with federal, state, and local tax law changes
• Lead tax planning engagements and provide strategic tax advice to clients
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines
• Collaborate with audit and advisory teams on integrated client solutions
• Participate in business development activities and client presentations
• Assist with firm management initiatives and process improvements

Required Qualifications:

• CPA license in Maryland (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a CPA firm
• Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Experience with tax software (experience with CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar preferred)
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Taxation or related field
• Experience serving clients in multiple industries
• Knowledge of Maryland and surrounding state tax regulations
• Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role
• Professional development through continuing education and tax seminars
