About The Fellowship Program

UWS Nepal launched the Teaching Fellowship Program in early 2017 as a two-year graduate placement initiative designed for passionate Nepali youth eager to gain experience in teaching, community engagement, and education development. The program addresses the challenges of substandard learning environments in rural areas by placing trained Fellows in UWS-supported community schools.

The Fellowship connects children from marginalised communities with Nepal’s brightest, most enthusiastic, and committed young individuals. Fellows not only get the chance to teach, but also develop personally and professionally. We equip them with the skills, knowledge, and tools to serve as full-time teachers for children who are often deprived of quality education.

Through direct involvement with students, parents, and community leaders, Fellows experience the ground realities of Nepal’s education system. This journey serves as a launchpad for their careers while shaping them into leaders who contribute to a larger movement for educational equity and systemic change in Nepal.
