The Vice President of Corporate Communications is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive stakeholder outreach strategies that support the company’s initiatives within a highly regulated consumer product category. The role requires a strategic communicator with deep experience in media relations, regulatory landscapes, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will empower internal teams to articulate the company’s mission and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
Monitor and interpret political, scientific, and regulatory developments relevant to the company’s product category.
Build and manage relationships with media outlets, influencers, and government communicators.
Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent and effective messaging to external audiences.
Risk & Reputation Management
Proactively identify communication risks and opportunities tied to regulatory strategies.
Develop strategic plans to mitigate reputational risk and enhance public trust.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor a high-performing communications team, overseeing recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and career development.
Establish departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
Track departmental performance and implement process enhancements.
Ensure all communications comply with legal and regulatory standards.
Experience & Expertise
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in corporate communications, preferably within industries involving highly regulated consumer products (e.g., healthcare, personal care, food and beverage, or medical devices).
Proven success in media relations across traditional and digital platforms.
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and public-facing communications in complex environments.
Leadership & Influence
Executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Skilled in navigating complex, high-stakes environments with discretion and strategic foresight.
