Company Summary: We recently partnered with a top tier investment firm dedicated to delivering superior risk-adjusted returns through private market strategies. With over $843M in private capital assets under management, they are looking to add a VP of Finance and Operations to their team sitting out of Washington D.C. You will have the opportunity to lead the finance and operations team, managing multiple funds as well as work alongside senior level leadership.

This role will be 1-2 days in office.

VP of Finance & Operations Qualifications -

- Bachelors Degree (Masters Preferred)

- CFA highly valued

  • Investment knowledge: Deep understanding of equities, bonds, derivatives, mutual funds, hedge funds, and ETFs.
  • Operational expertise: Familiarity with trade settlements, NAV calculations, fund accounting, and reconciliation.
  • Regulatory compliance: Strong grasp of SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Risk management: Ability to identify and mitigate operational and financial risks.
  • Analytical skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, performance analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Technology proficiency: Experience with portfolio management systems (e.g., BlackRock Aladdin, Charles River IMS), Excel, and risk software

  • 5-10 yearsof experience in investment operations, fund administration, or financial services.
  • Prior roles in middle office, fund accounting, or trade support are highly relevant.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional projects is often required for leadership position

Responsibilities VP of Finance & Operations -

  1. Fund Administration & Transaction Oversight
  • Manage daily fund operations including trade settlements, cash movements, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate processing of subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and capital calls.
  • Maintain fund accounting records and oversee Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
  1. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with auditors and legal teams during fund audits and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor operational risks and implement mitigation strategies across fund activities.
  1. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support portfolio managers with data analysis and fund performance insights.
  • Liaise with custodians, fund administrators, and external vendors to ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
  1. Process Optimization & Technology Integration

  • Implement and enhance operational systems and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Leverage fund management software for automation and data accuracy.
  • Develop procedural documentation and train staff on best practices
