- [Instructor] The home grid as displayed in the viewports is our visual reference for the scale of objects in the scene, and it's also a handy way for us to snap either in creation or in transformation of objects. I want to talk about setting up the grid. First of all, talk about the visibility of the grid. You'll see in the perspective view here that I've got a gradient in the background, and if I maximize that perspective view with Alt + W, we can see that that gradient can be really problematic with the default grid colors. Down at the bottom of my viewport here, the grid is not even visible because it's the exact same color as that gradient. So I really want to change this up so I can always see the grid, and that's a two-step process. I want to set the background to be a solid color, and then I also want to change the color of the grid.
