- [Instructor] Let's talk a little bit about UV mapping. This is such a broad topic so we are not going to over how to do UV mapping because it should probably be a course on its own, but I just wanted you to understand at least what it is and how it works. So UV mapping is the 2D planning of a 3D objects. So when we use textures or maps they're all to the assets, right? And we need to plan how this is going to fall over our 3D object and we're going to do that with UV mapping. So this will help us control the texture sides and placement of the maps. This will also help us control where the seams of these 2D assets will be. So, the borders of these assets are going to connect in some part of the 3D surface, and with the UV mapping you can control where it should be so it looks better.
