- [Instructor] Let me show you how you can do valuable, substantial investigation into how accessible webpages are without costly tools or experience in web coding. I'm going to be using screen grabs from the WAVE accessibility evaluation tool which can be installed as a plugin in browsers. This tool allows a non-designer, non-developer who is basically conversant with the key elements of digital accessibility, things I cover in other videos in this course, to quickly get a pretty accurate picture of how accessible a page is. And features include whether or not a site uses alt text consistently, whether or not the contrast between page background and text color is sufficient, whether or not the page is structured in a way that makes the content digestible by blind people, and what the page has write, like properly define the accessibility features.
