- Alright, so let's talk about POUR, P-O-U-R. Now, this handy acronym comes straight from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, or WCAG, as we call it, and it stands for perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. So originally it was crafted to guide web design, but it's just as valuable for us as e-learning designers. So by bringing these same principles into our design and development process, we can create courses that are not only accessible, but also far more, more user friendly. So let's walk through what each of these of these means. So first up, perceivable. This is about making sure anyone and everyone can actually perceive what's on your screen. So think of it as the foundation for accessible content. For e-learning, that means things like text alternatives for images, captions for videos, and ensuring that strong color contrast is present.
