Embracing intersectionality

We all as individuals have multiple dimensions to our identity, and one of the fastest growing trends are for Employee Resource Groups to partner and to collaborate to address the many aspects of our multiple dimensions. So, for example, I've seen the Black ERG partner with the Latino ERG and do a session, what's it like to be Afro-Latino. I've seen the Woman's ERG partner with the Asian ERG and talk about what's it like to be an Asian American female at the company. I've seen examples of the Pride ERG partner with the Veterans ERG and talk about what's it like to be gay in the military. As ERGs start looking at more and more issues of intersectionality, their programming, the types of the events that they do, are becoming a bit more nuanced. And it's a sign of a very mature ERG and an ERG that's coming along more at that advanced stage of their evolution and maturity.
