The culture pillar
Let's start with the Culture pillar. The Culture pillar is very important for ERGs, because the Culture pillar allows the ERG to have an impact and hopefully help to elevate the cultural competence within the organization. So, under the Culture pillar, ERGs are trying to elevate awareness and help to dispel myths when it comes to members of their community. So, some of the most common initiatives we see that would fall under the Culture pillar for ERGs are things like cultural celebrations. For example, when Latino ERGs have Hispanic Heritage Month, those efforts tend to fall under the culture pillar. Efforts that an ERG has to try to attract allies, right? Where maybe they're attracting members who aren't part of that affinity to join the ERG. Those sorts of efforts will be part of the Culture pillar.
