Calculate YoY change in CO₂ emissions

Calculate YoY change in CO₂ emissions

- [Instructor] In this video we'll calculate the year over year percent change in energy CO2 emissions. Open a new worksheet or go to the worksheet 3.4. We'll answer a simple but powerful question. Are emissions going up or down? Let's use two fields we created earlier. 1.2 and 1.3. 1.2 represent energy emissions from the most recent available year. Yes, the MX year. 1.3 represent emissions from the user selected year set by a parameter. Now let's create a new calculated field to measure the percent change between these two. Right click on any field, and go down create, calculate field. You know where to go. Double click the title. I will copy and paste it here. And then rename the field. Perfect. Let's break this down. First we subtract SY from MY. That gives the absolute difference like nest year minus selected year. Simple. And then we divided that by the SY to get the person change from that selected baseline year. Click OK. Now drag the fields 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 all through the text…
