- [Narrator] You can connect a Visio diagram to data stored in almost any database whether it was created in Access, SQL Server, Oracle, or another system. In a simple database, you can link directly to a table if the table's organized in a useful way. In many situations, however, it may be more effective to create a query that builds the exact data view you want to use in your diagram. That's what I've done for this video in which we'll connect organization and facilities data to a floorplan. Let's start by looking at the tables and queries in this Access database. First, we have a table that contains department information: accounting, corporate, and so forth. Next, we have a table that contains employee data. Third, we have a spaces table that indicates the use of each of the spaces in our diagram.
