- [Instructor] Last time, I showed you how to create this orbit animation using the environment options in After Effects. This works because we are using the cinema 4D renderer, and I've set the layer to be an environment layer. You can always refer back to the previous step to get a sense of how it was set up. But, let's say that you want to use your own custom texture to create a different reflection to your 3D text. Then of course, what you can do is use any layer as an environment layer, and this is going to be automatically reflected on the 3D text. So to demonstrate, I'm going to use this clouds layer. Then I'm going to hold down the option key. Here on the Mac this will be the Alt key on the PC. And then I'm going to drag and drop it to the composition. Now note that the environment layer in my comp banner is highlighted meaning that After Effects is going to swap those layers.
