- [Instructor] A vignette in graphic design is an additional frame to an image that create a unique outline. I'm photography and video, it has similar meaning where the edges of an image are being softened with a mask to create the reduction in brightness or saturation toward the image center. This effect can also be caused by camera settings or lens limitations. But artistically, we can use vignettes to direct the viewer focus towards the subject or to have merging different elements in the comp. In this tutorial, I will share with you four different approaches to create vignette inside of After Effects and then we will compare between them to see what works best. So I'm going to use this composition where I have a couple of layers with this guitarist here in the middle.
