- Software development has raised awareness of Agile and made it very popular, but Agile is not just for IT departments or software development companies, Agile's benefits can be used for any type of work in any industry. Let me show you. Whether we're building a sign or developing a new phone app, a lot of the same types of tasks will need to be completed. In either case, we start by gathering requirements. For a sign, we need to know what type of sign, how big it needs to be, what materials it will be made of, what colors will be used, and so on. If we're creating a new phone app, we would need to know what the app is, what it'll do and the experience it's supposed to provide.
