- [Instructor] It's great to watch a movie or listen to music on your Android, but the device is tiny and sometimes you need better output. The solution is to cast the image or audio to an HDTV or monitor. The process is called screencasting, even when it's only the audio portion of the media. You need two things to make screencasting possible, the presence of the Chromecast icon in a media app, this icon here, and a TV or monitor with a Chromecast dongle or similar screencasting hardware attached. The screencasting hardware must be attached to an HDTV or monitor. The dongle connects to one of the monitor's HDMI ports. It may also require power provided by the monitor's USB port or supplied directly from a wall socket or power strip.
