- [Instructor] Text messages are handled by an Android phone's text messaging app. The app has different names, and multiple apps may be available on a single device. On this device, the app is Messages, the default Android texting app. The main screen lists conversations associated with contacts in your Android's address book plus other text messages that come in from various services, such as the phone company or a doctor's office confirming an appointment. To continue a conversation, choose an entry and type your message. Text messages are delivered instantly, so you may see a reply right away, but it's not guaranteed, nor is there any guarantee that the other party has received the message.
