Create and edit a bill of materials
- [Instructor] You can add a Bill of Materials to any AutoCAD mechanical drawing that has the part references applied to it. So we've got a new drawing for you. It's called Bill of Materials_PARTS.dwg. As usual, download it from the library to follow along with the video. Now, this particular assembly in the drawing has had all of its parts references applied. So if I go to the Annotate tab in the Ribbon, and now go up to the BOM panel and select BOM here, it'll open up at a Command that says Specify Bill of Materials to create, or set current. Now if I press the down arrow on my keyboard, you'll see that I can select Main or use the question mark option to find a Bill of Materials that's already in the drawing. I'm just going to go for Main, like so, and this basically lists all of the parts references into a Bill of Materials, so they're all here. It's a very large dialog box, it fills up the screen. And you've got Items, Quantities, Descriptions, Standards, Names of those…
