- [Instructor] Welcome to another tip and trick for AutoCAD and we're going to be taking a look at how we can translate layers in our AutoCAD drawings. Now, just before we start looking at that, what I'd like you to do is open up the exercise file that comes with this tips and tricks video. The drawing you need is 343 layers-translator.dwg, and you can download it from the exercise files as usual. Now, once you've got the drawing open, make sure you are in the model tab. And you'll see that it is a fire escape stair with some dimensions and a couple of labels there. You've got an up label and you've got a fire escape area label there as well. Now, if I hover over the labels, you'll see that they're on a particular layer, which is A anno text, and the dimensions, if I hover over those, are on a particular layer, which is A anno dims. Now we need to move those layers onto a different layer and we can translate 'em across…
