From the course: AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty (ANS-C01) Cert Prep: 1 Network Design

Overview

Welcome to AWS Certified Advanced Networking-Specialty (ANS-C01). Let's talk through a course overview. My name is Noah Gift. And a little bit about my background. I've written recently four books for O'Reilly: Python for DevOps, Developing on AWS for C Sharp, Practical MLOps, and also Implementing MLOps. I have a popular podcast, 52 weeks of cloud, and I developed courses for Coursera on Cloud Computing, Duke MIDS, and I also work with UC Davis to teach cloud computing, and I'm an AWS ML Hero. When we talk about the exam, the AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty has four key domains. Let's go ahead and walk through those domains. The network design is 30%, network implementation is 26%, network management and operations is 20%, network security compliance and governance is 24%. If we dive into these four domains into a little bit more detail, domain one, Network Design. This is about designing a network in an efficient manner so that you can solve the problems of your organization. In network Implementation, in domain two, the idea is that you're going to take those architectural diagrams and put them into practice using things like infrastructure as code, virtual private networks, and also implementing an organizational structure that is going to give you the best performance. In domain three, Network Management and Operation. This is about maintaining a system you've already built, making sure that you're looking at the operational characteristics. There is enough latency requirements. There is edge based machines that you've got a system that can route things in an efficient manner. In domain four, it's Network Security, Compliance, and Governance. So making sure that you're able to audit your system, detect if there's bugs or detect if there are security breaches, really maintaining a secure system is the key domain for domain four.
