- [Presenter] Since its release in November 2022, OpenAI's ChatGPT enjoyed explosive user adoption. Despite offering little to none security functionality that enterprises usually require, it was also widely adopted in enterprises. This shows that when the business demand is high enough, established security governance is omitted. The full set of risks related to generative AI are not yet understood. At the same time, the prospective use cases continue to evolve, making the dual goals of control and enablement elude us. The best we can do is to adapt our closest equivalent control lists from the cloud computing and data analytics domains. As the generative AI industry continues to mature, we will hopefully see the current situation improving. The first public sector entities and nation states have started to address generative AI.
