- [Narrator] Defining an internal control framework is a time-consuming task. Enterprises often rely on existing control frameworks to base their internal frameworks on, such as CIS Benchmarks. To secure emerging services such as GenAI, no frameworks exist yet, so where do we start? Well, usually enterprises would wait until the technology matures. In the case of GenAI, the pressure to adopt these services is significant. In practice, this has led to enterprises altering their regular processes and opting to invest in their own efforts in building these frameworks from scratch. As most enterprises adopt GenAI using a cloud-hosted service, the baseline controls are very similar to cloud services. The Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark is a framework of technical controls for Microsoft Azure.
