GenAI terminology
- There are many terms that come up as we go through this course together, and here's a brief explanation about them. Artificial intelligence is a broad term that covers many different statistical models. The latest interest in artificial intelligence is in the space of large language models or LLMs. LLMs are a type of AI, sometimes called generative AI or foundational models. LLMs are a significant advancement in natural language processing, and they are statistical language models trained to predict the next word in a partial sentence or prompt. For example, generative AI can be used for machine translation, text summarization, virtual assistance, or for creating hyper-personalized marketing campaigns at scale. With the addition of multimodal capabilities, we are getting introduced to loads of new use cases to generative AI.
