Forward and reverse incremental backups

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the differences between a Forever Forward Incremental Backup and a Reverse Incremental Backup. With a Forward Incremental Backup, you have the full backup job that runs first and then the next day, the incremental backup will run any files that have been changed since the previous full backup. So those files get backed up that have changed, and then the next day, it happens again and it happens again. This creates a forward chain of backup files. The full backup, followed by all of the forward incremental backup files that happen each subsequent day. Now, let's take a look at the reverse type of backup. Once again, we start with our full backup, and then we run our incremental backups the next day, and so on and so on and so on. But it handles it much differently.
