- Many organizations have areas or even entire departments that suffer from disorganization. The silver lining is these organizations need people like you and me. People who can bring order to chaos and deliver results. Of course, I'm referring to project managers. We're the glue that binds what project teams implement to leadership's vision. However, most of us don't start our careers in project management. We transition into it over time. Start by taking inventory of your skills and strengths, in doing so look at the assignments you've excelled at in the past and carve out the experiences that are relevant to your soon to be project management career. Ask yourself, what previous experiences work and volunteer can I use to jumpstart my project management career?
