Microsoft Copilot Studio and agent templates
- [Instructor] You can build AI agents using variance development tools. In this course, we will use a Microsoft Copilot Studio to create an agent. We'll also explore its agent templates. What is Microsoft Copilot Studio? It's an integrated low-code development platform to build AI agents. It enables us to implement the agent development lifecycle, including requirements analysis and system design, agent building, agent testing, publishing across multiple channels, and agent maintenance, monitoring, and improvement. Microsoft Copilot Studio provides many functions for building your AI agent, such as configuring agent instructions, adding knowledge sources, like public websites, SharePoint sites, uploaded files, and enterprise data, managing business-critical topics, adding actions to integrate with internal and external services, monitoring agent activities, deploying your agent on multiple channels, like a Microsoft 365 and Teams, custom website, and the mobile app, securing data access with variance authentication settings, and using analytics to gain insights into agent performance. To help you get started, Microsoft Copilot Studio offers some agent templates, such as travel, website Q&A, IT helpdesk, store operations, and the hr benefits. Now let's have a quick tour of Microsoft Copilot Studio. Open the browser, then enter copilotstudio.microsoft.com. I have signed in with my work account. Click Create in the menu. I can create a new agent or start with an agent template. For example, let's choose the IT Helpdesk agent template. It pre-populates the agent name, description, and instructions. This IT Helpdesk agent needs to connect with the ServiceNow, which is a popular IT service management platform. I can set up the ServiceNow connection. Click Edit. We'll talk about how to set up a ServiceNow connection later in this course. For now, I will use an existing connection. Click Confirm. Click Create at the top. Copilot Studio is setting up our agent. After the agent is ready, on the Overview page, we can edit agent details. Click Knowledge in the menu. We can add more knowledge sources. Click Topics in the menu. You can manage custom topics and system topics. Click Actions. You can add actions to complete specific tasks. Click Channels. You can publish the agent on multiple channels. You can also use the Test pane to quickly test your agent.
