- Sometimes a conflict can jump right out in front of you, but most times they're bubbling right below the surface and it's those lingering conflicts that can really be a problem. If you hear someone on your team passively comment about something that went on earlier, you might just have a conflict on your hands. You can stay ahead of these issues. In this lesson, I'll show you how to keep any signs of conflict in your line of sight. I'll start with tension. Don't ignore it. Tension within a team can often be an early indicator of conflicts. As a frontline manager, tune in and pay attention. Observe how your team interacts with each other and how communication is flowing. Look out for subtle cues or changes in behavior. When you recognize tension early on, you can get involved right away and prevent them from escalating. Next, listen carefully.
