- [Instructor] There's a lot of discussion in the industry regarding capturing metrics when launching and managing security awareness programs. So how do you measure an employee's awareness of a topic? Or to take it a step further beyond awareness to application, how do you measure an employee's ability to take what they have been taught and apply it in real world scenarios? You may already know that most companies require employees to take an annual security awareness training. One of the more obvious statistics that teams capture is the completion status of training. However, if this is a required training, this step may not tell you much other than how compliant your employees and your program are. A better way to measure the effectiveness of your training is to measure how many people take additional voluntary training.
