From the course: Building the Ultimate Cybersecurity Lab and Cyber Range
Introduction
- Welcome to the Build Your Own Cybersecurity Lab and Cyber Range. My name is Omar Santos. In this course, you will learn how to set up a lab, whether it's in your home, at work, or in the cloud to practice skills related to cybersecurity. Whether you want to go over ethical hacking, pen testing, bug hunting, you want to start with bug bounties, or go into the defensive side of security. In other words, incident response, digital forensics, reverse engineer malware, malware analysis. I'm going to give you a lot of different tips on how you can build those labs, both at home or at work, using many different tools, using things like Ansible, using Terraform, Vagrant, and many other tips on how to stay safe whenever you're playing with vulnerable applications, launching different attacks, and also playing with malware. So in this course, you're going to be learning about a lot of different tools, different ecosystems, and you're going to be learning a lot by looking at examples that I have in a GitHub repository that you will learn throughout the course. So to give you a little bit information about myself, again, my name is Omar Santos, I work at Cisco. I'm a Principal Engineer there, and I'm in charge of doing vulnerability research and also AI research related to security. I'm focusing a lot now on doing adversarial techniques whenever it comes to potentially bypassing some of the guardrails that are in place in AI. And also, I'm focusing a lot on how to use AI for then doing different security operations, whether it's incident response or in the ethical hacking site. Well, enough about me, we have a lot of material to cover, so let's get started.
