EDA best practices
- What are some of the best practices, for exploratory data analytics? The first best practice is to have a goal or a problem to solve. Aimless exploration leads to nothing concrete coming out of it. It is like a hound loitering in the woods. Do a controlled exploration. Do not keep adding to your goals, or get sidetracked into other elements. Frequently review your findings and direction. It is always good to level set and iterate, so that you do not get lost. When data reveals interesting patterns or findings that are not related to the original goal, note them for later, and continue with your original exploration. Do not get diverted. Know when to stop. Don't be the hound without control. Not all explorations are going to give you a positive answer. Sometimes you have to simply timeout and declare that there is nothing found from the analysis.
