Backlog refinement

- As an Agile BA, one of Chris's primary responsibilities on an Agile team is backlog refinement. Backlog refinement is a technique teams use continuously to prepare for the upcoming backlog items while also seeing the big picture of the items further out in the future. Chris refines more detail for items of higher priority, while lower priority items are left with less detail. Now, let's review a few definitions related to backlog refinement. First is backlog. It's an ordered list of items, features, and requirements needed for a solution to achieve an outcome. Now, Chris is careful to make sure that the items on the backlog are relevant and timely to keep the team moving forward. Next is backlog item. A backlog item represents one or more requirements on the backlog. Chris makes sure that items that are higher priority are represented in more detail than those of lower priority.
