- [Instructor] Sometimes there's nothing you can do to get an unstable computer in good working order again. No matter how hard you try when you come to this realization you'll want to explore the recovery options. Click start, Settings, system and recovery. To see them. Here you can access available Windows troubleshooters reset the PC, and access advanced startup options. There's no link to system restoring this window but that's a recovery option as well. Let's look first at fixed problems without resetting your PC. You can see the recommended troubleshoot preferences here and the default is Ask Me Before running but there are others. You can also view your troubleshoot history, and finally there's other troubleshoots. This is where you'll end up most of the time. From here you can choose the troubleshoot you'd like to run.
