- Our areas of focus with respect to attacking Android and its applications are the following. Data storage, logging, network communications, platform communications, build settings, being able to reverse engineer these applications and attaining root level access. We'll start off with sort of background here. Android developed by Google. It was initially developed by Android Incorporated, which was acquired by Google in 2005. It is still maintained and updated by Google. It is open source and you are able to download the code and compile it yourself if you so choose. It is an open source operating system. It's based on Linux and it is designed for touchscreen devices. We have a wide range of applications available. It's slightly more liberal or easy to get into the Google Play store than it would be for Apple's iOS.
