(gentle music) - [Instructor] Although we will typically dynamically get our IP version six addresses assigned, there are times when we might want to manually set an IP version six address on an end device. Maybe we have a server, and we need to make sure that it has a consistent IPV six address, so clients can reach it. Or maybe there's a shared printer in the office that everybody's pointing to, based on that printer's IPV six address, or maybe we have a PC configured for peer-to-peer networking. The user of that PC, they're sharing files with their coworkers, and that PC needs to have a consistent IP address. And if they're using IP version six, we might want to manually set that. However, that's not going to be scalable for a large deployment. And in this video, we're going to take a look at how to manually configure an IP version six address, both in a Microsoft Windows environment, and on Mac OS.
