- Cloud operations, or CloudOps for short, is really a mix of processes and tools that we'll leverage to operate our cloud solutions long term. Thus, CloudOps is about defining how management and monitoring needs to occur, including putting together tool sets that are able to find issues, as well as fix issues automatically. The number of types of tools that you'll leverage are numerous. What's important here is that you understand what your CloudOps requirements are and back the right approaches, processes, and tools into those requirements. Let's examine some categories of management and monitoring approaches, as well as tooling that you should consider for your design decisions. Management includes configuration management or how we're going to track the current software and hardware configuration and manage changes that occur over time.
